(iRacing) Series 1 "The Mustang Trials"
« on: Thu Oct, 4 @ 08:45 AM (pacific) »
1 Jeremy Wagner
2 Randy Cherry
3 Jonathon Cooper

It is all over and Jeremy won out with consistent races week after week. Great job you deserve the win. Randy had a great run and won more races than anyone but was edged out by Mr. I-don't-crash. Jonathon came out of nowhere (ok, technically that breakaway, igloo republic near the north pole) to complete the podium.

This also makes Jonathan the winner of the (non-admin) participation prize! It was a stiff competition for the prize *cough* but look for yer $25 in iRacing credits delivered by albino Nordic yak once we get the Blackberry map app to sync its GPS.

A great first series and a real pleasure to race with you guys. Lovely car and I sent mine to the crusher.

I will be sticking with the Mustang for a while. I would like to get a good handle on 1 car before I start with another.

As far as tracks go, I will run whichever. I will learn / buy them all eventually anyway.

I did some testing on VIR tonight. For the final the Grand West course I think is our pièce de résistance if we are into that sort of thing - long & technical with all kind of turns in there. A real challenge.

For track #6, I tried some of the VIR short configs.

Patriot is mental. I like short tracks but that thing is bonkers - a gocart track.

South is the best imho. It has the best part of the technical section of Grand West, 2 hairpins are risky if you get your braking wrong, but it isn't too hard and was starting to feel fun after a few laps.

For Oulton park I am not sure what config.

Are you all trusting this to me? :)

Alright, well I made some adjustments (see first post). I tried to set us up so that you wont have to learn a brand new track each week.

Looks good to me GT0.

I do have the 3 tracks that you have marked. Would only need to buy Watkins Glen and VIR.

Let's do this. :)

Edited to add- You should have named the series "All In" considering how much it's already cost me.  ;)

Cool, remember to buy in blocks of 3 (10% off) or 6 (20% off) to get the discount.

WG is a good buy - it is used heavily and can generate good, close racing since it is fairly easy. VIR is just awesome with a bunch of variations.

I would like the actual rae to be a bit longer.  15 minutes seems very short.  We can practice whenever.  Maybe we should shorten the practice time and extend the race time.  Maybe a 30 minute race.

I agree. Any objections to:

80M Practice
10M qualify
30M race

?

Need a proper name for this series.

"The Mustang Trials"
"Pan Galactic Mustang Blaster"
"Burnt Rubber Mustang Club"
"I've understeered and can't get up club"
"Muscle Car Something-something"

um, help?

Good practice guys. I really enjoy that Mustang with the H shifter, good times.

GT0, here is what Clip and I are using, and it works pretty darn good:

Hopefully with the league switch over we can get a couple of these guys to respond and show up for racing.
