Race Discussion / Re: Racing Setup

Fella's, both of those set ups are super sweet! I'm the jealous one for sure! I'm still running a single monitor set up, no rig, no play seat!  :'(
Could I be the only LZ dude without a dedicated rig?!

BUT....
The future holds great promise :)

In the next 2 months I plan to obtain/set up:
- 3: 27" LED monitors (i have them already, but nothing to mount them to yet).
- Monitor mount(s)
- Playseat (know of any good deals?)
- PC is already rocking a Quad Core AMD at 3.4 GHZ with 8Gig of RAM
- second video card needed for the additional monitors

Once I have that all set up, watch out! heh heh
At least I won't be driving blind anymore when racing side by side at 150mph.

Thank you.  Made from scraps I had in the workshop.  Only thing I purchased was 1/4 round to keep monitor stand in place and the castors, so I don't have a lot in the stand.

Just as a point of interest ... my tire pressures at the end of the race were 26.5 - 26.3
                                                                                                                      26.8 - 26.7

The impact after the finish shows -10.95g's lon and -3.87 g's lateral at the moment of impact.  Very valuable information  ;D

Very nice job!

Agree ... good time last night even if I did mess up!  At least I didn't take anyone else out with me.  Just brain fade I guess in Canada corner with a tank slapper that put me back with other cars, then a hard battle from there.  Approach to the kink is best taken one car wide I did discover ... thought we would make it but I didn't quite get there.  Really enjoyed last night!! 8)

This is the setup I am using.  G27 wheel and pedals with a Pastore load cell on the brake.  Monitor stand is Sim Seats.  Everything is on a movable platform such that when I am told it is time to sweep in this corner of the room I unplug the internet connection and 1 120v plug and move the unit out.  I started single screen with the flat screen that is on the wall.  iSpeed is now on the flat screen.  The wallpaper on the 3 monitors (24" ASUS no speakers) is from the start of the Mid-Ohio race.  I have a splitter on the heaset so my wife can listen in while watching the madness of the LZRacing league action!  Power strip I use is kind of neat ... has 4 slave locations controlled by 1 master.  The computer is plugged into the master, screens and pedals into the slave.  When I shut the computer down everything shuts off.  Computer is a Main Performance Turbo X2500K with 8 gb ram, AMD Radeon HD 7970 card, 4 core Intel at 3.30 GHz.  I've been quite happy with the computer performance.

Hey Guys,

I will echo what others have said, great evening of racing!  Ton o' fun.  8)

I was very surprised to be sitting on pole at the start of the race.  I knew I had my hands full with the quality of drivers lined up behind me.  My position didn't last long when Larry overtook me pretty quickly, then a short while later I touched the grass, and bobbled and could not recover and spun.  Cold tires and a tank full of gas likely contributed to my situation.  ::)
Luckily enough I avoided contact with other cars and the wall...  The rest of the race amounted to running hard to keep Randy at bay and trying to close the gap on Bryan.  Things got interesting on the last lap when Larry conceded his position after a good battle, only because he had suffered aero damge, otherwise I would not have seen him at all. The race it seemed went by quickly as it was so intense.

Congrats to Johnathon on a fine race.   Nice job guys. I have to say it is a lot easier surviving the first lap on pole.   :)

Not bad for a mid-packer. :)

I agree, the race went by in a blink of an eye, which given my lack of love for the track surprised me. I did finally figure out T1 but that was about all I figured out. Fun slow-guy battle with Scot for last place.
