I’ll go with #1
Primarily because I haven’t tried the mustang in ages, it has to be better by now than it was lol 😝

My original thought was it would be fun to run the Miata, however after running the open wheel cars with the rift, I’d have to shift my vote to the Renault 2.0
This may not be ideal for our newer members who are buying new content, but we don’t have to mirror the official series tracks use some more base content tracks which may make things easier for our new iRacers
Great work Russ!
It doesn’t matter to me which car we drive, I am happy with whatever is chosen.
Considering it is just for “fun” I like the idea of multiple shorter races.
Thanks for setting this up Alex!
All the tracks you have on your list look great, I will add these 3 to what has been suggested so far.
Oran Park South
Oulton Park Fosters
My vote = MX-5 on our own schedule
I was looking forward to participating in the 24 hour, however I am not going to run as I have experimented and tested all different combinations of graphic settings and my frame rates at Daytona (night) are horrible. This is with 10-15 cars on the track, my concern is that with 43 cars on the track, it will get worse and turn into a choppy slideshow… I don’t want to jeopardize LZs race or any other teams race if I can’t run properly.
Hopefully iRacing does something soon.
I would like to participate again this year, I will try and be be there for some testing.
Thanks for getting this off the ground Allen!
My Race rundown:
Started 6th, I dropped to 7th pretty quick, wasn’t too interested in tangling with anyone right off the bat. Had a few guys tap me in the rear, apparently this car can handle a lot more from the rear then it can from the front. After seeing the damage suffered by the cars who tapped me from behind I realized I needed to protect the front end of my car! Mike was pretty darn quick, I ran wide coming out of the last corner, Mike secured a run on me, we then entered turn one 2 wide, could I have relinquished the position? yes, should I have? maybe, do I regret pressing hard to maintain my position? no, would I play it differently if (when) it happens again? probably not, to be honest. I tried hard not to touch his car, we did touch however and Mikes steering got jacked, I am sorry for that Mike!
There was more than one occasion during the race my spotter called three wide!
I ended up chasing down Jeremy in 1st, eventually got by Jeremy after several laps. I could then see the pack forming behind Jeremy, Larry got by Jeremy and I could see Larry coming but as he mentioned he could not close the gap due to his front wing damage. Not sure if I had any damage or not. I heard the commotion behind me when the group of cars got tangled up, kept my head down and ran for the finish. I enjoyed the race for sure.
I do not have much to add that hasn’t already been mentioned regarding the race overall last night. I agree with many of the points raised. I would say though that I am a fan (not because I stumbled into a win lol) of this seasons format and the new Formula Ford. It will promote tight racing. If I could comment on race communication, race car drivers do not have the luxury of communicating their position with their competitors during a race. Not saying we shouldn’t use voice comms. but in some situations it could lead to an advantage.
It is the responsibility of the driver performing the overtaking maneuver to do it safely.
We wouldn’t all be here week after week if we weren’t interested in promoting a challenging, rewarding, fun, sporting (read: fair) race event. Race being the key word.
In the end sportsmanship will carry the day. It will not always be perfect and it will get messy and emotions will run high, I would expect and hope for nothing less.
Gentleman start your engines FFS.
OK guys, time to make some timely decisions.
We are running the Skip.
My thought on this would be– everyone does some testing and gets back with a track pick by next week. Short tracks that keep the racing tight. If we decide we want to do this we can talk about it some more. We could run some practice rooms during the week and do some promoting and recruiting. Hopefully pick up a couple members. Personally, I think if we had another 5-8 regulars it would make all the difference.
So, I know this is late and we don’t have much time, but lets get it!
Lookin’ Good Jeremy,
I’ll throw some short track picks out there now FFS
Circuit Park Zandvort National or Club layouts
Oulton Park Circuit Historic or Fosters With Heslop
Looking forward to this season!
The Skip is a different car in this build for sure…
Agreed Allen, I would be in favor of ditching Spa, Mt. Panorama, Homestead, and Charlotte…
There are a bunch of great track options for the Skip
Looks like I will have to sit out the next few races, my V1 Clubsports have become inconsistent at best, impossible to drive, likely also the reason I had trouble with braking in Dirt FFS
I think I have another load cell, but frankly I’m done messing with them. Re-calibrating didn’t help.
The status on the new V3 Pedals is that they show as being shipped, should receive a tracking number soon. Hopefully receive them in a couple of weeks.
Now I am really looking forward to the new set!
Haha Nice one! that guys got talent!
HaHa… I hope not, those crazy short Rally Cross tracks make my head spin and just about barf… They are fun though. 2 hours and I would defo barf. Oh I was hung over the last time I did rally Cross maybe that had just a bit to do with getting dizzy FFS
