Just ran 6 laps on softs, seems to be the max, racing hard I was was 2 seconds slower than my best lap with softs.January 8, 2012 at 10:39 pm #151
I think if you click on your name, then click profile, then edit you can change it there.
I pity the racer who tries to push a little too far on their tires and ends up limping home lol

I haven’t done any testing but will in the near future. I will not be online tomorrow night since I have to screen and holler at the TV during the LSU game. Good luck to everyone. Racecar, please keep the scores and forward them to me.January 9, 2012 at 7:15 pm #157
I figured you were out due to the LSU game!!
Clip will be on scoring duties.
Lets get Series 7 back on track!!
Oh, and Roll Tide………………..J/K man, dont freak out, LOLJanuary 9, 2012 at 9:43 pm #159
LSU is some kind of drug, right? It seems to be making people crazy.

Brutal. That is all 🙂

I had fun, you definantly need to have some strategy for class a. I took my third pit stop early in hopes of letting clip pass me and me catching him with newer tires on, but I ran out of time, still I had a great time in each race, lots of side by side racing.January 10, 2012 at 1:51 pm #162
Really tight racing last night.
Battled with pnasty in C class down to the wire.
Couldn’t get out of the pack in B class.
Followed my plan and got left behind Clip and pnasty in A class without enough time to catch up.
The network was being a real pain last night. Hopefully that doesn’t continue……January 10, 2012 at 2:05 pm #164
My A class car sucked last night, I sucked last night and that track sucked last night. Oh yea also the network sucked last night. We should never do tokyo reverse again, and if we do, zut has to be tortured too, just not fair.January 10, 2012 at 5:16 pm #167

Given the new tire wear, I’d suggest our endurance races be a bit less endurance. It seems to me tire strategy essentially does not exist. For example choosing racing hard or med will never make sense. Was the original idea to create a race that required a pit stop? If so maybe we should recalibrate to 10’ish laps?
I loved the last long race before the break, where there was an option to push and not pit. But last night was kind of excessive!

I kind of agree with GTO. Having a race long enough to require one pit stop is about right. This new tire model screws it up royally. I think something in the 8-10 lap range would be ideal. That would bring some real strategy into it. At that length Racing Mediums or even Racing Hards may bring an advantage as they may be able to skip a pit stop whereas Racing Soft will be faster, but require a pit. Once the race gets over 10 laps it seems like Racing Soft is always faster.
I was off quite a ways in A class last night. I thought it was because I had pitted 3 times and the leaders only 2 times, but I see Pnasty actually pitted 3 times too. I guess I was just slower than I thought. I ended up pitting on laps 5,10, and 15, but I think I could have gotten by with 7 and 14 only. What strategy did others use, and do you think you’d do it different if you raced it again?
Some really good racing in B and C class. I had a small incident near the start of C class and made it back to mid pack, but not quick enough to challenge for the lead after that. In B class it seemed like a few were actually surprised that we had a clean start. I ended up in the lead or close to it right off the bat. I couldn’t hold off Clipless and Pnasty though. I kept on their tails all race, but could never close the gap entirely.January 10, 2012 at 6:03 pm #170
Zute is being tortured. Roll Tide…………………………..

For anyone who does not have Spa, my lounge will be set on Spa for practice.
I meant to switch it last night but we ran so late I forgot.January 10, 2012 at 6:36 pm #173Clipless72Moderator
I had a lot of fun in last nights race with the exception of it ending so late and me not being able to sleep after!
The tire wear thing is a bit of a hassle but I didn’t think it was too bad last night as I pitted on laps 8 and 14. I found it very difficult to make up time on someone who was out in front no matter hard smooth I was or how hard I pushed.
Crazy there is a lot of sucking going on in your post and I am feeling uncomfortable JJ, the network issue was a pain last night for sure.January 10, 2012 at 7:40 pm #174

I think they changed that in the last update. Now only those who have Spa can run on it. Maybe we need to try it out to confirm before Monday night. I have Spa so I’m all for running on it, but if there are members that don’t have it and don’t want to get it we may need to rethink it.
