I am wondering when Zute is going to tell us what the final track is?

It is definitely a very tight track with a lot of single file type sections.December 29, 2011 at 9:10 pm #113
Has anyone done much testing with the new tire wear? I did quite a bit of practice on Tokyo reverse before the update and at that time it was a saw off betweeen pitting or not as to total time of the race. Didn’t make more than a few seconds of difference either way. Now with the new update it sounds like we’ll need at least 2 pits. I’ll have to do some practicing to figure this out.January 4, 2012 at 5:31 am #131
The final track will be announced right after the final regular series race.January 4, 2012 at 1:36 pm #133
I have been testing, I’m not really sure which strategy I am going to use.
The new tire wear has definitely thrown a problem into my old strategy.January 4, 2012 at 5:51 pm #134AnonymousInactive
How many laps are you guys getting on Tokyo Reverse with Class A cars??January 4, 2012 at 7:49 pm #135
I just did some laps last night and I can get 5 good laps with lap 6 about 50% worn and lap 7 about 60-70% worn using Racing Softs. I think it will be a toss up between a 2 stop and 3 stop strategy. From what I’ve gathered on GTPlanet the Racing Softs wear much quicker than Racing Hards and Racing Mediums, but they have such a large advantage that they still are faster even with the extra pit stops. I haven’t had time to confirm this for myself though. I’m interested if anyone else has experimented.January 5, 2012 at 3:24 pm #140
I have done lots of racing with the new tire model, some cars are just faster and handle better with softs but other cars feel exactly the same with hards. If your car isn’t affected by the loss of grip with hards, hard tires are the way to go. But where I see the most advantages with hard tires is particularly on Daytona, Indy and High Speed Ring. But we don’t race Ovals so ultimately soft tires with an extra pit is really the fastest way.
Hard tires degrade a lot slower but lap times get too far off. I have been doing a lot of testing with nascars and super gt to verify this. And believe it or not Sports Softs actually are sometimes better to use. Zutalores would have to test that out because sports tires have been banned in the super gt and nascar series I race in. Sports Tires are like Superman tires now, so PD really messed up the tire wear this time.
But overall from what I hear is that they were down-graded so people who can’t do long races still have the fun of a pit strategy in a short race. Kinda stupid because we run a longer race. But it adds a little more to it I guess. My strategy is run fast as h3ll for 5-6 laps and get new tires and NO gas. This strategy has been playing into my hands a lot these last two weeks.
One of my friends has his super gt car setup with hard on front and mediums on rear. So it’s interesting to see everyones tire strategy before the race starts.January 5, 2012 at 3:42 pm #142
I did some testing last night as well. I didn’t think to try SS, but did try RS and RH (CLass A). It seems obvious the safe strategy is to go RS. If you know enough and test enough for a specific event, the other tires might let you skip pit stops and have some advantage. On the other hand tire abusers are going to be in big trouble on RS 🙂
For some of us (me anyway) the bigger difference will be controlling a 690pp car on less than racing softs!
This is all based on an hour of testing so what do I know 🙂
I prefer to see the game reward the use of racing hard.
OkJanuary 5, 2012 at 7:14 pm #143AnonymousInactive
I will test out this tire model tonight specifically on Tokyo Reverse. Sounds like a 3 stop race on RS already though.January 7, 2012 at 6:55 pm #144
just wondering what lap times are looking like for class A just want to know if i’m closeJanuary 7, 2012 at 9:20 pm #145
(IIRC) I did a 1:33 the other day on RS. I don’t think that is very fast.
OkJanuary 8, 2012 at 7:26 pm #148
I still need to test, I’m a little worried 😕January 8, 2012 at 7:28 pm #149
